Only reason I gave 4 stars was because it seemed like half the menu was labeled MP. Steaks, Seafood, etc. Which i think would scare a lot of people off of ordering those. What we did have was very good. Waitress was very nice. Food was quick. Atmosphere was interesting with it looking like the prohibition bar types. Chandeliers, etc.

Probably like a 3.5 stars place. Mostly mediocre all the way around except our server was good. I appreciate the effort to make it feel like a speakeasy setting but they could and should have done much more. Food was pretty decent. I ordered an NA old fashioned, they were out of NA whisky and the manager (I assume that was his role) made a big deal out of it and made me uncomfortable for ordering that. Wasn’t my fault it was on the menu even though they didn’t have it. Wouldn’t be eager to go back here but also wouldn’t be opposed either. Just an okay place but will give 4 star instead of 3

Even on a Tuesday night this place was lively and fun. They have a good menu with lots of hearty options and the food was delicious. The drink options are also good. The servers were friendly and helpful.

Ate dinner there on a Friday evening. Had the rib eye and my wife had the garlic chicken linguini. The steak was one of the best steaks that I have ever eaten. It was a little rare for medium rare but I'd rather eat it that way than overcooked. Had a few drinks. The wife had the Beetlejuice Marguerite. It was really tasty but came in a "child's size glass. I sampled a couple flavors of Moscow Mules. They had about 10 varieties. Before them I only thought they came in lime. About 8 pm there was live 50s music in the attached bar next door. People were dancing and it looked like a lot of fun but we had to go. Drinks were $9 to $12 each and our total bill for food, five drinks and tip was about $140. Not too bad for a fun atmosphere with good food.

We were visiting family in NE Iowa. We were on a mission to find the best pork tenderloin in the area. We found it! Big and juicy with a unique breading. The sides of potato salad and coleslaw were outstanding and complemented the sandwich. Next time I want to try their burger or swordfish sandwich! Staff were friendly and the manager visited with us. Really nice people.

Was in town for a family get together and ate/drank here. Great tenderloin sandwhich. Cool atmosphere. Had a bigger group and they insisted on putting everything on one tab which was difficult in the end to figure out, but otherwise service was good and friendly! Love that Monticello has this as an option! Would definitely stop again!

What a gem! This place is great! The atmosphere and decor are such a vibe. The music was also just perfect for the aesthetic too, very cool. I had the grilled tenderloin on the GF bun and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. I ordered the balsalmic glazed brussels as the side and woooow those things were amazing! Pro tip- pour the extra balsalmic off the brussels on the tenderloin. So good! Everyone enjoyes their meals and our server was attentive and super friendly. We even had a quick fun chat with one of the cooks. He had us dyin laughing! All in all I give it 5/5 and cannot wait to come back!!!
